A Legacy of Industry Firsts
ContractPal has been a trailblazer in digital transactions since our founding. Here are some of the milestones we’re proud to have achieved:
- February 4, 1999: We pioneered the first court e-filings using XML and digital signatures, setting a new standard for legal documentation.
- September 10, 1999: We facilitated the first real property e-recordation with a property deed, revolutionizing real estate transactions.
- June 29, 2000: We enabled the first electronic mortgage closing, simplifying a traditionally complex process.
- June 30, 2000: ContractPal appeared on CNBC’s Power Lunch to discuss the significance of the Federal E-Sign legislation signed by President Clinton, highlighting our role in shaping the future of digital signatures.
- October 1-2, 2000: We completed a number of digital transactions entirely online under the Federal E-Sign legislation, including a car purchase, a home loan with the sale of a note to the secondary market, a stock purchase agreement, a W4 form, and even an exchange of EPA pollution credits.
We also played a key role in advocating for and helping pass eSign laws, such as the Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act (ESIGN) and the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act (UETA), which established a secure and legally recognized foundation for digital transactions.

With over 850,000 voice signatures, 4.5 million transactions facilitated, and 3,000 APIs in use, ContractPal delivers unparalleled efficiency and scalability.
